it seems babys actually smile while they are still in the womb using a new 4d scanner professor stuart campbell has suggested babies have a 'reflex' maybe being content in the enviroment they are in

"This may indicate the baby's calm, trouble-free existence in the womb and the relatively traumatic first few weeks after birth, when the baby is reacting to a strange, new environment," he added.

I saw the photo of the baby on the front of the Evening Standard yesterday and saw the headline..... and it hit me that everytime people say to a new mother that the baby smiled at them, she says.... Naahh, it's probably got wind.... :shrug:

Strange that... because i know people that smile silently in exactly the same contented way...... ;)

Yes, especially when they're 7 weeks old and the smile is one that says "We both know what I've just done in my nappy, the difference is YOU are the one who's going to clean me up!" :D
