For pay as you go, does look pretty attractive? -

Their charges have been slashed even further... now x-network calls cost 6p p/min and sms to any network is only 2p (valid till end of June).

Anyone signed up with them yet? If so, what's the service like? Is it worth swapping?

Sorry to bump but just came across this when trying to find something, been on for probably a month nearly or so, so i'll give my thoughts.

The costs and everything are great, alot of the features are a bit lacking but its getting there, they said they are adding stuff. They use the T-Mobile network, you are sent to their homepage over the wap (over gsm, no gprs as of now), easy don't seem to have one. No number to check your balance, asked them about this they said its being worked on, but on the site you can check your balance, complete history of usage of your phone, set up autofill when it gets empty etc.

For PAYG, I feel the current state its enough to sacrifice for the superb prices compared, hopefully it is only to get better; more features etc.

Support is top notch, all done on a java applet, never had to wait and had all querys answered quickly and well.

I think that if my monthly bill was a fiver, I'd be fuming, going around accusing people of using it behind my back ;)

So it's not worth going mansion with a contract phone. ;)

Yeah, my usage is < £5 p/month too. Maybe it's just because nobody wants to talk to us, or we have friends? :(

Over £20 p/month...?!? Surely you'd be much better off on a contract with that kind of usage?

ps - earlier post should read 'we have no friends'

Yes, I just moved from Vodafone PAYT to EasyMobile and ported my number. I just asked for a PAC from Vodafone, cost nothing, took a week.

LOL probally but I do go a month or so with only fiver used and if I was on a contract I could not cut down my phone usage to free up some cash?

Most of mine is just nattering or booking things or checking how people are.

Sorry if i've missed something, which i probably have but want to check....... is it right that one can terminate the contract at any point after registering? Without the usual one year waiting period?

Thanking you in advance since i'm having trouble reading the site at the moment :)

That's a really good offer, 6p to any network but did I read correctly that this is only until the end of June? If so what does it go up to from then?

5p for texts and 15p for calls (to all networks, which is still cheaper than I'm on with Orange) :D

We're giving it serious consideration, to get texts at 5p with Orange you need to buy hundreds at a time and they only last for a month!

Yes  I'd noticed that ;) I'm in daft mode..... have been for a couple of weeks now..... my hazy confusion comes from that and the having to register with them and the facility that is available for being 'overdrawn' with credit...... blah blah blah......

but thanks for your patience and not using the  or :dunce: emoticon :)

I am wondering if he is going to set up an escort agency: easyGirls?

Might get done under the trades descriptions act though ;)

Are you calling me a Chav? :p:

Why would I want a network phone?I hardly use my mobile except to check up on family. Most of the time it is switched off so it's pointless using anything but PAYG. :p:

Thinking about it, could be good for the nest forum meet!

Moving on topic for a sec, I've signed up and taken my number to them from orange. Well I say taken, it's due to go over tomorrow, hopefully there shouldn't be any problems. So far they've been extremely efficient, the Sim arrived in the post the next day (and I signed up after 4pm). The only problem I'm having at the moment is I can't log into their site, perhaps they're doing maintenance.

Another nice touch is a list of staff names and job titles on their site, no more being lied to by staff at orange about what their job is (manager my ars e!!!)

Lets hope when I try tomorrow its all working again!

I cant believe Orange took him to court over using the colour Orange!! Why not he threatened to take every company under the sun to court who had the word 'easy' in their name !!

They charge you for top ups and low usage:-

"Refill
This fee covers the cost easyMobile has towards credit card issuers and banks. You can refill your account online through your account on our web site, this will cost you 25p, You also have the option to do a manual refill by calling our Customer Service. This cost you a fee of 75p."

"Exceptions
In the event that your usage is below £5.00 over any given 3 month period (i.e. if you actual usage in the months April, May and June is 4.99) we will charge you a fee of £ 0.75 which will be deducted from your account balance. We do this to ensure that accounts that are not used eventually will terminate. This is in line with our commitment to all of our customers of keeping costs to a minimum and for the full advantage to customers that actively use our service."

If that's correct then they may well be a lot of people ringing up to query why their credit isn't right on their phones :erm:

I like this one too
Withdrawal of funds from your account £5
If you cancel your subscription with easyMobile and have a remaining balance you want to withdraw, it will be subject to a £5 fee, which covers our cost in relation to paying you the money by cheque or by bank transfer.
plus
Account blocking fee £5
easyMobile allows customers to have a negative balance of up to £10 for up to three days. But we will tell customers in advance that their account balance is close to zero. Warning will be sent by email and SMS. easyMobile believes this is a good service for customers, however if your negative balance remains for longer than 3 days, or you exceed the £10 limit you risk having your account restricted which will cost £5 to restore full service.
and

Reopen a lost or stolen phone £5
If you have recovered your phone after having it reported as lost or stolen we charge you a fee to reactivate your phone. This fee covers our expenses regarding reactivating your phone.
So if your phones is swiped and you get it back you will no doubt end up getting billed for the fact that the whoever took it probably wiped out your credit and possibly even took it into negative credit balance as well the charge for putting it back onto the network. Joy.

Well I thought this thread was well worth an update.

Have just had notice today that Easymobile have launched an addition to their tariff. Calls between Easymobile customers are now charged at 3ppm and texts 1p.

This on top of their last update which gave us MMS* at 20p and GPRS data at £3GBP per MB. It's making their service look even more competitive.

They've also added a tariff checker to their site so you can see what you can save.

https://www.easymobile.com/selfcare/emcontent/services/cost_calculator.html

I've been with Easymobile since they started and haven't been charged one fee. I really like the auto-topup facility, I never run out of credit now.

*not that I've managed to get my K700i to accept the settings - think that's a problem with the phone though not the service.

Just checked the calculator, seems to be biased towards easymobile, claims that 30min of calls per month calls on Tesco Mobile (Value or normal?? not clear) will cost £4.50, same as easymobile, but I know that if you buy a bundle on Tesco mobile for 25min at £2.50 all calls are charged at 10ppm after the 25 min allowance, thus 30min will cost £3, undercutting easymobile by £1.50!

There is an option for addon's, not too sure how accurate it is though.

Still I defy anyone to find another network that allow you to send a text for 1p!!

I am just wondering how the service and reception is here in Derry, N.I.
Anybody got any further updates

Is there coverage map - here there o.k. but best to check.

Their 3p texts to all networks is a smasher.

Edit - how dumb am I :dunce: - your coverage won't change, Virgin use the T-Mobile network the same as Easymobile
