Did that, but how do I paste from there? Copy Isn't an option and select all couldn't be copied?

My net is grinding to a halt this reply page took about 40 seconds to appear!

My D/S modem light is on permanent, I'm sure its usually flashing loads?

Most pages aren't even appearing, I get 'The page cannot be displayed' is this a one off tonight or is something wrong with my BB?

Thanks

I am still suffering very slow speeds as shown above yesterday. Anyone look at the results for ping & tracert?

Thanks

Hey Hornet, Sorry for not replying sooner, havnt been able to get to the computer. To my knowledge, the traceroutes look fine, but the speedtests obviousley show a problem.

Are your problems just with Viewing webpages? Or have you got problems downloading as well?

Try changing your proxy, It might help, If not post back here. To Change your proxy (In IE), Goto Tools, then Internet options. Goto Connections on the TAB at the top, and goto LAN settings. And fill the following settings into the appropiate boxes.

Check here for details on using a proxy;

http://homepage.ntlworld.com/robin.d.h.walker/cmtips/trancache.html#iew

This may improve web page loading times. If not, post back.

1st 128K took 1907 ms = 68732 Bytes/sec = approx 572 kbits/sec
2nd 128K took 4125 ms = 31775 Bytes/sec = approx 264 kbits/sec

So its on its way down again with that 2nd one and this now gets slower upto midnight.

Could NTL have recently done something to my connection to slow me down this much?

Thanks

It might just be due to the amount of traffic with regards to the recent worms, or even the amount of users downloading/uploading in your local area.

All of the speedtests above (your previous post) look perfectly normal for your tier of service :) If you do have any problems with slow web browsing, try changing your proxy, like above.

Did you attempt to change proxy to see if it helped web browsing?

HornetUK

web browsing seems to be different speeds on different sites some load instant some just have page could not be displayed.

Is the speed test not related to web browsing?

Looks remarkably like DNS or proxy problems to me but I have been known to be wrong on one occasion :) PM me for a proxy or alterante DNS if need be.
