atleast in the US........

universial music group is to drop its prices in an attempt to boost sales it concedes that piracy most noteably kazaa has affected its sales and it will drop its prices from the current $16.98-$18.98 pricing structure to $12.98

"Our research shows that the sweet spot is to sell our records below $12.98,' said Universal Music president Zach Horowitz. "We're confident that when we implement this we will get a dramatic and sustained increase."

I think it would be better if they scrapped the whole system they have now. Put the music on a dvd type disk with extra footage like the band playing the music live in concert, interviews what mad ethe band choose to put that song on the album , maybe some footage of the band trying to make new tracks for the album.
All that for a tenner to fifteen pounds...id pay it.
BUT......they couldnt do this with most crappy boy bands as they have absoloutely no talent whatsoever.......well i suppose they could put some dance routines on for the kiddies to learn:rolleyes:

Why not setup online and walk in stores where you can select which tracks YOU want on the album, and charge per track?

the reason is simple they want more money and yes it would cost you more if you shop around you can get the latest albums for £8.99 lets see pay £1 per track as it would be in theory 13-14 tracks you do the maths
