I seem to be having problems with accessing www.anti-leech.com (http://www.anti-leech.com) using ntl broadband and they have asked me to do a trace route to that site. How do i do this ? can anybody else access the above site ?

If not would somebody be kind enough to either trace the route and post it on the following or tell me how to do it.

http://forums.anti-leech.com/viewtopic.php?t=1099&start=15&sid=c8471913bce779ecbe68ffb71b31b03f

Thanks in advance

Hi,

Do 'Start', 'Run' and type 'cmd'. This will give you a command, or DOS, prompt. Then just type in 'tracert www.anti-leech.com'. eg-

tracert www.anti-leech.com (http://www.anti-leech.com)

Open a command prompt (on XP, it's under 'Accessories') and type

tracert www.anti-leech.com (http://www.anti-leech.com/)

Right-click in the command box and 'Select All'. Control-C to place in the clip-board. Control-V to paste into the forum post.

I can access the site OK from here, so not much point in me doing a trace for you. [Edit] - and anyway, Aragorn has beaten me to it!

I can access the forum post link, but www.anti-leech.com (http://www.anti-leech.com/) times out on me.

Fine until around hop 12/13 .

EDIT: I have just tried it on my Zen dial up account and www.anti-leech.com (http://www.anti-leech.com) loaded in seconds, amazingly quick for 56K dial up.

Thanks in advance

It is no use anyone else posting a tracert for you as the route would be different from yours. Even your tracert could alter if checked at different times.

I still get a time out using Ntl BB but instant connection via Zen Dial up. You could try specifying Zen DNS servers to see if that helps. 212.23.8.1 & 213.23.8.6

Tried again, in case the time of day makes any difference. Loads instantly for me.

If that means anything to you

It seems the same route as iadom who can't access the site either

Still dead as a dodo for me as well.

I can still access it fine via Zen dial up, did try specifiying a couple of DNS servers for my BB connection ( mine is normally set to auto ) but it made no difference.

It would suggest a localised problem, perhaps if you experimented with a few different proxies you may get it to load.

Zen tracert.

Even your own tracert can be irrelevant, as th route from the proxy to the saite is what matters, and that can be, and if reverse traces are correct, often IS different to the direct route.

Thanks for all your help, the problem is now fixed. Anti-leech had put an IP block on my local ntl cache for no particular reason it seems.

glad you got it sorted, there was a clue in iadom's post, in that he could get there via dialup (which doesn't use proxies).

- anyway, thanks for the update :tu:
