Hi:),

I have been trying to access a certain radiosite on http://magazin.orf.at/tirolmagazin/extra/shortcuts/audiovideo/ by clicking on the "Live hÃÃâ€*’¶ren" link.

A window opens and I can listen to the programme for about 30 seconds before my system locks up:td:.

I am running ME with both Netscape 7.2 and Windows explorer 5.0. I have Norton Personal firewall and NAV running too. I have broadband and don't seem to have problems listening to any other web radio.

Anyone able to help with suggestions to get my favourite :Yikes:radio station back?

:welcome:

when you say your system locks up, does everything freeze so that you have to do a hard reboot, or do you get a particular application that goes not responding? if so which?

Not that it helps you much, but I just listened to it for over a minute, no lockups, it seemed fine.

cheers

Ian

Thanks for the replies guys.

The player stops and I get a message saying buffering which stops at about 15%. I need to close down the open windows. My internet connection has then dropped and I need to re-start.

Which version of windows media player are you using?

Have you made any changes on the pc (hardware/software) that may have caused the problem?

Try doing a system restore (start->programs->accessories->system tools-> system restore) to a date when you weren't having the problem.

Who is your ISP? how do you connect your modem, usb or ethernet?

have you tried specifying a proxy (http://www.cableforum.co.uk/board/article.php?a=21) assuming you are on ntl bb then here is a list (http://www.cableforum.co.uk/kb/84/list-of-ntl-proxy-servers-new-format) , or if you already have a proxy specified then try running without it :)

Ahh. On my system the station opens in its own window. I do not open media player.

I have made no changes to my system recently either hardware or software.

My ISP is ntl and I am connected through usb.

I have not yet tried to do a system restore.

Anyway... do you have an ethernet card in the computer?
check the memory and system resources on the computer and post these back... (right click my computer-> properties-> performance)

EDIT: also try typing mms://stream2.orf.at/radio_tirol into the address bar of internet explorer and see if you can listen that way

No ethernet card.

512.0 MB RAM and 78% free system resuorces.

EDIT

System restore won't play ball for the past 3 restore points.

Tried editing proxy servers - no difference.

Now this web adress is looking good, playing for two and a half minutes so far.

Thanks again for all the help guys. Listening pleasure is back again.:tu::D

Good grief:Yikes:.

All was good yesterday, I was able to listen for about three hours before calling it a day.

Now I have a message saying the server is busy and am forced into a reboot.
