Websites Unreachable www.wwiionline.com (http://www.wwiionline.com) and www.playnet.com (http://www.playnet.com)

I cant even Ping these sites through NTL but according to everyone else Not through NTL the websites are up and running fine..

Can somebody on NTL here try and get one of those sites up for me to check?

Thanks.

neither site replies to ping requests. I would agree with Mal... try a proxy and see if that helps...

let me know which area you are in so i can pass on the details to the relevant people for investigation :)

One site that I cannot reach through NTL is http://www.benefitsnow.co.uk/ . Have to resort to a dial-up account to get to it.

I have tried various proxies and can now get to the site. I cannot get to it if I don't specify a proxy or if I specify the one I usually use if I have a problem. I did try several proxies some time ago and couldn't get to the site on any of them. The message I got was

because the web host is detecting the address of the proxy, rather than people's real ip and blacklisted the proxy ip. Only thing you can do to get round this is to specify a different proxy.

The solution is to pass details to ntl, who will contact the host to have the block removed.... if the problem is still ongoing, PM me the details and i'll pass them on.

I have the same blacklisted ip problem (mine would usually be one of the nottingham ones), swan-cache-2.server.ntli.net:8080 works fine for me though.

Just because you can ping the IP, it doesn't mean that there is a web server up and running on the interface.

Want to exchange homes...

I have been doing tests. Using IE, Mozilla and Firefox.

Firefox....... Used to work using direct connection to the internet. today the page timed out, tried autodetect and still failed manually specify and at first none of the manc proxies worked after using a renf proxy I could access ISPr.

Tested IE on all manc proxies al connected but no connection if I used autodetect. which IE had always used before.

Mozilla also timed out on autodetect but managed to connect on manually set proxies.

So who has been messing around with the proxies!!!
