I've had this packet loss for over 2 weeks now, and still nothing has been fixed. My parents don't seem to be arsed to ring them up, so only people on the internet is the only option I have at the moment.

Can some one help me, I can't even play my games now with all this lag :(

Here is a test I did. First all, I don't know why it says cancelled when I didn't cancel it.

Simple ping loss check
target does not respond to ICMP ping

You're unpingable which will explain the loss quite nicely - the test cancelled itself because it couldn't reach you.

Any evidence of traceroutes or whatever out from your PC showing loss?

How do I do a traceroute?

http://www.serve.com/FAQ/index.php?faq_option=faq&id=50

To copy and paste it into here, right click, select MARK, highlight the traceroute, press return then you can paste it into a post.

Suggest you do a tracert to www.ntlworld.com if possible, or the IP address of the game you are playing.

It still lousy for gaming right now?

If it is you may want to check out the server(s) you are using, as well as the rates you are playing the games on, you have a 64kbit upstream that's all so if you're using 128k rate it won't work too well at all. You should be playing on single channel ISDN rate.

Also I see that you are using Internet connection sharing to connect to the net, that means that the computer you are connecting to gets the first bite of the bandwidth every time. Sure that computer isn't in use and causing lag?

The PC that has the internet connection sharing is just my notebook, which only has BOINC running (I've tested it closed, and still does the same thing) I'll try setting the games "connection" lower, to around 128K and see if it helps.

Thanks :)

There's your problem, connection should be set to 64k, that's your upload speed.

No worries.
