Hi all, a bit of a story, followed by some questions, so please bear with me, I'll try and keep it as short as poss ..... TIA

The addy above, ( i've removed the http at the start oof the link ) is one i'm being directed to when looking up a download for megamame. I did a bit of searching on google for apps5 and it came up with a few things,

1 ) It seems to be some sort of spy / malware, is this so ???
2 ) Another thing that was thrown up is that it was linked to Google's " I feel lucky " button...... again, is this right ?
3 ) I tried to find a specific removal tool, found one, installed it and, :erm: what do you know, I cant access the internet, kept on getting, page cannot be displayed etc etc. I have done a system restore and am back to normal, I think

Sooooooooo, can anyone shed any light on this " apps5 " thingy and if so, a removal technique ???

TIA

It seems to be reprted as a bug in the lookup code for when a specified address cannot be found by the browser.

Thanks Paul, so is there a work around ? The link i'm trying to follow is for the d/l site for megamamece3 binary on this page (http://www.mameworld.net/mamece3/), can anyone get to it, if so maybe they could upload to their web-space and provide me with a link ( much appreciated )
Its all part of me trying to get a decent working copy of mame on my xda, i've got one but this other is meant to be better

TIA

I don't think that it's a mozilla problem, I tried accessing the link on that page and got bounced too. Strange since I am at work on a Mac running Internet Expletive ;) Wonder if google can find another location for that file name?

http://www.mameworld.net/mamece3/pocket/

As I said in my post as well ;) it is being listed as possible spyware in some reports, a mozilla bug in others yet I hit the same error on an apple mac running internet explorer that (as far as I know) is a spyware free zone so it could be one of those possiblilties or just a redirect error that's causing the wrong page to be loaded.
