My solo debit card isnt working, cant figure out why. I use the correct number, so why doesnt it work?

Does the issue number have to be 01 or just 1

My card dooesnt have a start date on it

What do you mean "it's not working" - what are you trying to do with it?

Either 01 or 1 would work but the new ones don't have an issue number.

If you mean online shopping, a lot of sites don't accept Solo.

But they say they do accept it (amazon/itunes).

When i say not working a get a messege saying card declinded. On amazon it stops it although i have the funds in the account. Itunes declines before i can even buy, it says declined

It does work in Amazon, I use mine all the time.

Can i ask for a new card? Should i just phone up and say 'i wanna new card man' and then happily send one? Or do i need a reason or what?

I know that theres a new card now (maestro)

Itunes declines before i can even buy, it says declined

I had that very same problem with them - try putting it through as a Mastercard - that was their advice and strangely enough it worked :erm:

Mastercard is what maestro is connected to, like the fact that visa electron works as visa

Get yourself a (proper) Visa Card, some banks do Visa Debit cards, otherwise get a Credit Card.

Not many places which state they accept Visa will take an Electron....

nah, debit i dont really fancy credit cards yet.

I was gonna go for barclays and get a visa election although to save me time i would prefere my card to work

What should I say to the bank?

How easy is it to get a replacment card? Do they simply give you one if you want one or do they make it difficult?

just fone them up and tell them ur card not working or say ur singerture keeps comeing off and they will just send one out

When I lost my HSBC Solo card it was cancelled and my new one was a diff number..

It depends on the bank, some issue replacement cards with new numbers, others don't.

oh, I have happened to have 'lost' my card. HeHehe.....

















oh wait here it is. Nuts.

Better not say i lost it because they may be something wrong with my account status which is stopping me using my card

just fone ur bank up and tell them u cant use ur card online but the accept it and they will have a look for you wot bank you with

Just phone your bank and tell them that you are having difficulty using your card online. Tell them what the problem is and im sure that they will send you a new card.

I think there may have been problems with the network yesterday, as neither mine nor my girlfriends electron cards would work in Asda - the till was saying that Asda didn't accept electron, and that there was a fault on the card strip. If it was just one of the cards then fair enough, but it was unlikely that there'd be a fault on both cards.

nah, its done this for a while now. Anyway they are sending me a new card i just hope the rep understood me and is sending me a new card instead of a rreplacment card (want a diffrent card number)

I doubt it would be a problem with the card number - more likely to be a problem with the account. Who do you bank with?
