ok .....

We went to Fuertaventura, all booked via Expedia. The flights were from Heathrow to Madrid to Fuerta. Normally 1 3/4 hours to Madrid, and 2 1/2 hours to Fuerta.

The time at Madrid was 1 hour between flights.

I'm guessing your begining so see what happens next ...

The Heathrow flight was delayed .... by an hour. We got to Madrid, changed terminals and missed the connecting flight by about 3 minutes.

Back to BA desk, Next flight is next day ..... oh and we've lost one of your suitcases.

Stay in Madrid overnight, return to airport, still can't find case, we "think" it's in Fuerta ....

Land in Fuerta, and YES there is the case .... went via Gran Canaria :Yikes:

So we are here .... 35 hours after starting off :(.

Get to hotel ... and it's awful .... Pool is cloudy, apartment is dirty, plaster falling off blcony, microwave wires burnt, bare cieling wires, camp beds, toilet filthy and rusted, tiles cracked .... etc etc ... I filled two pages with things that were wrong.

Called Expedia, explained all to them and they said thay would move us ... in 2 days ... ok we thought, so didn't really unpack.

Day of move arrives, Expedia call and explain there's been a computer error .. (Computers don't make errors, Humans do) .... They can't move us. No other hotel accomadation on the Island .... :Yikes:

We argue and eventually get them to refund our money, and thanks to my daughter and hotelopia.com, we find new apartment.

Get in taxi and get to new apartment ... FANTASTIC :D :D. Clean, tidy, helpful staff etc etc ... So Holiday begins 4 days after getting to Heathrow ....

Expedia were incompetant, rude, unsympathetic, etc etc, and although they weren't to blame for the flight delay .... BA weren't much better.

Makes you wonder though, you look forward to your "2 weeks" away, and these guys really don't give a toss :( :(

Jesus, that's why I never take the regular package holidays.
It's more expensive to book your own accomodation etc but well worth it.

Nemesis

It actually worked out cheaper .... :D

We had scheduled flights, the reason the flight was delayed was that the cabin crew turned up late :(
