my friend just called me
and needs help installing broadband onto his computer using ethernet
he just moved the connection to another computer and he cant connect to the internet
im using a SACM so i dont really know how a STB works like

Can you check what IP address your friend is getting. If is starts with a 10 then he needs to enter these numbers in the address bar 172.16.30.84 and that should take him to the registration page.

May be worth just unplugging the STB for about a minute first.

does a STB user still need to register again???
cause they used that STB on another computer before and i thought like with SACM u only need to register it once

im trying to phone him now
but some1 is using the phone atm :dozey:

No, the STB connection is quite different to SACM

Each pc that is using the broadband needs to register so yes if it's a new pc. He'll need the PID number and password too !!

just got on the phone with him
and he said he did try and go thru the registration process
but when asked for the PID and password the old password or the 1 they change to didnt work
and now they are blocked from trying again
well they say they are gonna call CS tommorow

but think it will be better if they call CS as they would need to ask for the correct password aswell anyway
