Sony has revealed it is to use Blu-ray discs on its next generation platform the playstation 3, the discs can hold 25GB single layer and 50GB dual layer.

Hmm, I wouldn't say the huge amount of space available would mean better graphics. Sure, the PS3 will have great graphics, but however much data there is on a disc, the graphics will still be limited by the PS3's hardware.
I'd say it's more of a vital step, DVD9's won't be able to hold enough data if current consoles are filling them up.
I wonder if other consoles will do the same, I imagine they'll struggle if they don't. Then again, the GC uses those mini-DVDs.

I can see that type of disc will take over the DVD's kind with that ammount of space, if Sony sell the way it's made :erm:
