a sad sad day for the world of motorsport. 41 is no age :(

Even though I wasn't an avid fan of superbikes I knew enough to be interested when it was shown on tv and have always enjoyed watching it for the pure skill of the riders.

May his memory live on. there'll never be another champion like him

A sad loss indeed.

To have become 2002 British Superbike Champion after breaking his neck at Brands Hatch in 2000 & further serious injury at Rockingham in 2001 was a fantastic achievement.

As the recent World Superbike races at Brands Hatch demonstrated, the UK riders are as good as any in the World - and Steve Hislop was up there with the best of them.

RIP Steve.

Yes, it's very sad. I don't know what else to say. :(

same, he's been my roadbike hero for years, I'm stunned. What a genius rider, who never seemed to get the recognition he deserved. I have his lap of the IoM on video and it is awesome.

God Bless his family

Yes he will not be forgotten in our household either! We used to watch the championships, but they will be a little less iinteresting now our hero has passed on!
R.I.P Steve! Sympathies to the family.
