Hi guys.
My phone line has been dead for a couple of days due to an exchange fault but recently I've been seen ridiculous levels of packet loss and slow browsing speeds on my Nildram DSL connection.
Is it possible that the same phone line fault could affect my internet access?

I'll just mention that the level of customer service received from BT was excellent, they have set up a free divert to my mobile until the problem is fixed. :)

Well all the signals are being sent down the same piece of copper to your house, so if the voice aspect is sending lots of nasty intereference it could well affect the DSL frequencies on the cable.

Apparently yes. :tu:

I just got a rather amusing call from a BT engineer who asked if I'd had problems with my internet connection and on hearing my reply, stated that the reason for my DSL connection not working was due to "a fuse that someone took out and forgot to put back in" at the exchange. :disturbd: :erm:

Oh well, at least I have a phone again and fast browsing speeds. :D
