When should we update the virus defs?
When should we update the virus defs?Always have mine set to auto update, but check manually every day as well.
Av is Command from Authentium.
IMHO You should check for new updates at least once a day to make sure you are covered against any eventuality.

that's one of the nice things about the EZ Antivirus I'm trying atm - they email when an update is available, and so far they have been almost on a daily basis.

Thankfully a lot of software houses have learnt how reliable end users are for running updates ;) A lot of anti-virus software automatically updates every X hours, when you get a warning like this though it's a good idea to run it again just in case ;) No point taking risks when you don't need to, I've lost track of how many times my friends say the phrase...
"What do you mean update the definitions? I thought it did that itself anyway!"
You could get unlucky and be hit just before your anti-virus software checks for new files :(
