I'd be surprised if they waited that long TBH (Sony and Microsoft)

I dunno, timing of a demonstrating a useable product is critical. Companies will want to build for a product launch that give them a head start on the prime Christmas market. But if they show a useable console too close to a previous Christmas (or even rumour exist that its ready) they run a risk of the public being aware they are about to buy a "dead horse" and not bothering. If the consoles are likley to be ready I'd have thought a May demo was a good as time as any.

I can't see M$ really launching the same time as Sony though. Sony still have market dominance that X-Box 2 would likely be buried in all the Sony and general media hype, even if the specification performance and value for money are better.

Come on guys, you know by now not to trust "official" pictures on the internet as most of them turn out to be photoshop mockups by people testing their photoshop skills. :D

You buy it because it's a lot more powerful than a PS2 :dunce: I certainly won't care what it looks like (not that I'll buy a PS3 anyway)

I have thought for a while that Microsoft will get XBOX 2 out for Xmas 2004, so that they can sell shedloads & get a good user base installed ahead of the PS3 launch.

Having said that Halo 2 launches in November 2004, & I can see them miling that for all it's worth......;)
