First of all, it's a great game and a must buy for the everyone!
I was reading the SoF2 manual (yes I know..sorry!), the part about private slots was interesting...
It said the obvious that they are for your friends list..but it put a note that private slots do not apply for dedicated sessions; persumably this means they become public (?) ....which if it's the same accross the board (i.e. MS design decision) then it answers a lot of questions about RtCW!

If I have time, I'm going to pop into town this afternoon & buy SoF2 before I go to London.

not yet...I'm on a 9 player non-dedicated server...no lag ;)
Ok, I have enough money to buy one more game (RtCW arrived at last) so would you say I should buy SoF2.

I wan going to buy it today, but went for Midtown Madness 3 instead - though I have enough XBL FPS games at the mo, and no racing type XBL games.

This game is a real blast.....stuff the single player part....Live is the biz! No lag....heaven!!!
I prefer this to RTCW but not getting rid of it.
the pc version was dire i liked the first one is it the same or diffarent for those of you who have played both pc and xbox versions

The graphics in the Xbox version of SoF2 are not brilliant...dire compared to PC version but online the graphics look better IMO.
Online is where this title shines.
I guess it was a trade off between graphics and online performance.
Lets halo 2 is smooth online what with its graphics!!

sof 2 invite system works a treat! no problems so far!
AND NO LAG!! THE Xsevers are great they are fast an not many people use them so u can get on!
There are acctual x-servers!!!:eek:
Good M$ and Activision!!!
Now if there where some for wolfenstein as well!!

Yeah the x servers are good last nite i [played a perfect game of 6 vs 6 no lag at all and this mornin no-one was on the x servers if the whole of the nthw clan had the game we cud have taken over the server!

all the online sites have either not even rated sof or given it like a 3/4 out of 10.
is the online play like counter-strike/rtcw or quake/uc ?

Sorry to disagree, but i'm playing the pc version and IMHO its an ok game, not that i've played a lot but it seems ok, good graphics, GOOD ai ( too good sometimes )
I will give it 8/10 IMHO
SoF on the XBOX is well better overall than the PC.....why come one it's blooming obvious....
...."Headset communicator"!!!! ....actually talking to your team mates in real-time ....to co-ordinate your attacks/defences.
Non of this shoddy 3rd party stuff...XBOX is 1st party...and well beats the SoF/PC :D

I found this game rather annoying (to say the least) in the beginning. (EDIT:I like it now I am used to it)
But then I had only spent 1/2 hour on it going through the tutorial etc.
It seems that you can only get 4 per channel on the walkie talkie?
When playing a 10 player game, 1 person per team can get left out and find that they cannot talk to anyone?
Or thats what it seemed last night.
As for where to get it, read all of the Vat free offer post in this forum, Curry's is not the best place to get it.

SoF2 is great and I'm really enjoying the single player too. Using the M60 mounted to the helicopter is just class - Apocolypse Now style.
Regarding the voice control, it's a bit confusing to set up but I think if you stand next to someone you can hear what they're saying.

Okay let me explain the voice communication to you all so we all understand. Im talking about this in the default set-up how you'd find it when you first play the game.
First off, when joining a game you need to press START and select WALKIE TALKIE then choose a channel which contains some of your team members.
No listen carefully.... when you are stood near people you can speak to them normally as you would on Wolfenstein.
However if you walk to far away from them they cannot hear you like in real life.
What you then need to do is press the WHITE BUTTON like on Ghost Recon to speak to the maximum of 3 other people in your channel. This means at maximum you can only not speak to 2 other people on your team if the teams are even.
You can also speak to the opposing team if you are stood near them. So if your chatting **** to your mates and walking around the map not using the Walkie talkie WHITE BUTTON the bad guys are gonna be ready waiting and will be there to pop a cap in you.

So thats "no pressy da white button" channel is open & t'enemy can hear you if close enough.
Pressy da white button and the channel is closed to only your teammates.
Either way, teams of 4 keep you all informed whats going on.
I wonder how, when its a team of 6, how you pass information onto the other 2??
Having been the 5th man it got quite fraustrating, not being able to talk to the rest of the team.
In my book, thats a definate bad point for this game.
Can we call for a patch for this...lol

I cannot seem to find anything about this game on the Activision website??
PC version yes, but no mention of it being on the Xbox.
Anyone know where there are maps of the multiplayer levels on the net?
FYI:
I hosted a 12 (6x6) games yesterday....with no lag, slow down or breakups.....(not much or anywhere near compared to GR/RtCW).
...12 people on home servers!!! :D

I've not actually seen anyone playing on the X-Servers, they always appear to be empty.

That is true....I have tried to connect but always gets rejected....
I managed to join the first time I played the game expecting loads of people to join, but I just sat there for 10 minutes feeling very lonely.
There is a problem listing the available games though that they need to sort out. I can't join any from Quick Match and it takes ages to get the listing of games on Optimatch. Whereas MM3 is super fast, just bad programming I think!

I wonder if the time it takes to list the optimatch games is because the system is doing better at optimising the matches that you can play? Ergo taking longer to do it, checking speeds etc.
Or maybe its just slow...lol
I tried to get into the x-servers last night & they were mostly empty and unaccessable. Pity.
Where do they house these servers? & what are they?
