Anyone know how to 'lock' the keyboard so that little fingers cannot screw things up while it is unattended?
I am running XP home and have a microsoft internet keyboard.

The easiest way to lock Windows XP is by simply pressing the Windows logo key and the letter L (for Lock) on a Microsoft Natural Keyboard or any other compatible keyboard that includes the Window key. Doing so will pop up the Unlock Computer Password box.

Cheers m8, but the windows+L dosn't lock the keyboard it just puts you on the password screen. I need something like you get on mobile phones. But it is a step in the right direction.:)

Short of disconnecting it I think you're stuck (or buy a wireless one and remove the batteries whilst away?)

*edit* found it, shareware:( , looks like the thing I need exept for the need for a password to re-activate things. The best thing would be a facility to hold a key down and lock everything and same again to unlock (like on a mobile phone)

a) It's shareware, ie.it costs
b) It needs a password to re-activate everything

i have a small child and i know it can be a pain. So to this end I have a bit of software called toddler keys (freeware) and it is super. If young ones do press buttons on the k'board you can have it simply display pictures or sounds which is cool.

if you want i will email it to you

Toddler Keys is a useful tool for parents that allows you to lock your computer keyboard, CD drive doors and power-off button...

What an excellent idea! Every parent should have it!!

Oh, and welcome to the forum!

Seem way as you do on a phone? (Using a combination of keys (in quick succesion) that is unlikely to be generated at random)
