Thanks, I shall book mark it. However, two questions.

Fresh Download When I had a 56k dial-up connection I found software that saved the day when your connection broke after you had downloaded 99.9999% of that 100MB file was almost essential, but do we really need it with broadband?

FreshUI Is this like TweakUI where you are given the choice of what particular bit of tweaking you wish to do. I only ask because I once ran some spawn of the devil software, guaranteed to improve my internt access, that bollixed my PC.

They are not industry standard benchmarking utilities.

For better benchmarking you will need the likes of 3dMark and PCMark from www.futuremark.com, although personally i do not think much of 3dMark03, 3dMark2001SE is a beast and well respected.

Also take a look at http://www.sisoftware.net/ for more "real world" benchmarking.

True, it`s more for 56K`rs. :)

It was mainly the download manager I was posting about, but if you use TweakUI I`d stick with that as I haven`t tried this other software.

Maybe someone will post if they try it. :)

Karl.
Thanks for these links m8,but could you also add which ones you have personally tried, and recommend please?
I would feel a lot happier downloading programmes if they have a "vote of confidence" from a user. Cheers m8

The ones I recommend are on my downloads page (link below) I have tried Killcmos, and Soundcard detector.

Any you are unsure about do a google as you`re bound to find these utilities elsewhere as they are not new and a lot of people have used them. :)
