fan speed?

has anyone else noticed that when the ps2 powers up the network adaptor the fan speed changes? it goes faster i think as it gets louder.


also i swear a saw somit flash inside the console :Yikes: not sure what it is but seems to happen as the ps2 turns on the network adaptor :confused:

only noticed the flash as where i was sitting i could see though the front grill (and no the flash wasnt the laser cus it was at the opposite end)

The fan does indeed increase - this is due to the extra pull on the PSU and extra cooling required.


The flash you are seeing is the HDD activity/check light on the motherboard as you now have something installed in the expansion slot it's expecting to find something.

Done it since I've had one - beginning of Beta Trial just over a year ago.
