Tomorrow is my last day on NTL broadband, well, I haven't actually used it for over a week now, but I digress. I would like to keep my main email address. How would I go about this?

Well, I could 'move' to payg dial-up, but never actually dial up. Would that do it?

If you had Broadband then your email address will have been setup just as that, email address. For dialup, it's set up totally differently.

Best thing to do is go to https://autoreg.autoregister.net signup for PAYG dialup which will then generate a new email addy. Then ring TSB and ask them to migrate the Broadband email addy onto the PAYG account.

I left ntl in December and can still access my emails. I do wonder how long it will be before they shut that off.

The Special Branch :D :D :D Mr Police Man, can you help me migrate my email address or Technical Support Bureau, the welsh wizards, whichever you think might help :D

There are two types of Broadband email accounts, STB and SACM. As SACM email accounts generally have a charge each month applied for services, when the account is cancelled the email addresses are cancelled too. However STB accounts just have email addresses on so these usually aren't cancelled hence you can still use the email addresses.

set up new payg acc using the online reg

then call TS and get them to migrate your email acc over to the payg.

tomorrow when ur SACM is disconnected (it is SACM isnt it?) your email addy will be safe and sound on the payg acc :D

I would, but I went right the way through the process and found that the payg option is not available. Of course the £15 a month service is still accepting sign-ups....

I put BT as my phone provider. Perhaps it's a sneaky NTL trick to get BT customers to fork out full price to them!
