Hello

Cany anyone view this site?

http://forums.codejunkies.com/

My friend can who is not on NTL but uses Pipex broadband.

I have tried changing the proxy and used another DNS but I can't view the page at all - I am thinking this has something to do with the proxy server given that I have used the same DNS that my friend uses on Pipex.

Thanks

No I cant get it - but i dont think its the DNS as it resolves correctly as 62.189.42.81.

What i did get however was this...

c:\>ping forums.codejunkies.com

Pinging forums.codejunkies.com [62.189.42.81] with 32 bytes of data:

Request timed out.
Request timed out.
Reply from 158.43.188.61: Destination net unreachable.
Request timed out.

Ping statistics for 62.189.42.81:
Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 1, Lost = 3 (75% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
Minimum = 0ms, Maximum = 0ms, Average = 0ms

Dunno what 158.43.188.61 is?

Thanks for checking that

I wonder whats wrong with it, there is no news on the main site to say the forums are down and there usually is. Just strange my friend can get to the site - guess its his Mac doing something my PC can't :P

Not sure what that other IP address is you got

Hmmm, interesting - noticed that Norton complains about a URL_Directory_traversal attack by ME (localhost) on this site....

Weird....

Do you use Norton?

11 15 ms 16 ms 16 ms fe0-0-0.hr2.lnd8.gbb.uk.uu.net [158.43.188.61]

Thats what comes up with a tracert on the ip address

Okay 127.0.0.1 is YOUR local IP Address its like a loopback to your machine.

I dug this out from Symantec...

PROBLEM: Web Site Information Is Missing:
The Intrusion Detection feature of NIS and NPF recognizes some functions on certain sites as suspicious traffic and blocks those functions. To permit those functions, add the URL_Directory_Traversal entry to the NIS or NPF signature exclusions list.

To add an entry to the signature exclusions list:
1 - Open NIS or NPF
2 - Click Status & Settings
3 - Double-click Intrusion Detection. You see the Intrusion Detection window
4 - Click Signatures. You see the Intrusions Detection Signature Exclusions window
5 - Find and click the entry URL_Directory_Traversal in the Signatures box
6 - Click Exclude. NIS or NPF moves the URL_Directory_Transversal entry from the Signatures list to the Exclusions list
7 - Click OK, and then click OK again
8 - Close NIS or NPF

Please look here (http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/nip.nsf/735050b77b1fcece88256bc7005c3bc6/97574da7850943d388256cb800677b70?OpenDocument&src=bar_sch_nam) for more information.

Incidentally - if you clear all your alerts you will notice that you will get an alert EVERY time you try to access this site.

Thanks for that info - I'll give it a go and hopefully it will stop those alerts - I'll tyr adding the site to Norton Firewall and see if that lets it display
