hi

- I have a 'flat silver thing' ambit100 & it works ok - the link in your post loads the 'admin' pages for my modem, I'm on 600k too - user & pass should be

admin

The flat silver modem should be the ntl home ambit modem and does have the diagnostics page.

Are you sure you have not missed a "/" at the end of the address.

The address for this modem is http://192.168.100.1/

The user id is "root" and the password is "root"

root & admin work for me :)

I will bow to your knowledge on that one not having the modem myself.

However some other bearing factors maybe that the original poster Forcer has a proxy set up or maybe using a router.

Failing that Forcer may be in area of NTL that blocks access to the logs.

Forcer more info here (http://homepage.ntlworld.com/robin.d.h.walker/cmtips/signal.html#ntlhmdiags)

thanx for the help, so is the ambit100 got same IP as the motorola modem? also will the subnet mask and dhcp server be the same?

Yes subnet and dhcp should be the same, I seem to remember reading somewhere that to get to the NTL200 modems diag screens you may need to reboot the modem for some strange reason!
