Just a poll to see if people have been getting more connection problems with the fine weather .

I have been told that the local street cabinets overheat and cause things like SNR and return path problems.

This can also manifest itself in freezing or pixelatted TV

I've had more problems, although not much more than usual, but the heat definetly effects it! I was told this by a NTL guy!

My STB lost the EPG data, and there was the occasional video drop-out when it was very hot a couple of days ago. Fine now though.

Broadband worked perfectly the whole time :D

The TV has frozen or blacked out momentarily 2/3 times an evening over the last few days. BB has dropped out a couple of times (first time in months, to be fair) but has always been back after a few minutes.

Hemel Hempstead (orig ntl) area.

It might be of interest there is a change in SNR here since the hotter weather . Higher SNR

Well you dont have to vote!!

I think the heat seems to effect the STB's more than cable modems maybe becos the connections overheat but so do the boxes?

It appears more prevelant on STB set ups as said before you can also monitor changes in SNR and return power with up dwn blue.

But other data streams are also involved in this hence freezing pictures lack of interactive on STBs

no problems whatso ever.
ntl also reckon my stb is broke because every day i lose data and the green box in my street is out of the sun all day (par from 1 hour in the evening)
my bb is very reliable, and i have never had any real problems with it! :)

Well anyone else checked there SNR and return power levels at start of day compared to end of day
