I'm currently trying to notify the seller of an item I have won the bid for on Ebay today.
However whenever I get to the "My Ebay" section and click the "pay now" button below...

I get some connecting and then I get a "The page cannot be displayed" page.
I'm sure ntl's crappy proxies have something to do with this . . . it was working intermittently earlier  :fit:
Can anyone else on ntl get to this page? Or anyone not on it?

Yes I am currently on "cache-2.herm.server.ntli.net" and have had it manually set at that because the BBC broadband does not work on my default one!

Try removing the manual proxy setting in I.E. temporarily to see what happens.

Tried that it still has the same result - that page cannot be displayed error.
are you using windows xp? if so it might be an issue with secure sites. Are you having problems with any other secure ones?

No I am using Windows 2000 Professional. I'm not having problems with any other secure sites to the best of my knowledge.
I am not having any problems with ebay atm - I presume I cannot test that specific page unless I actually buy something.
There are/have been loads of issues with EBay/ntl

I changed my proxy to "cache1-bstl.server.ntli.net" which is one of the Bristol ones and it seems to work fine now.
AARRGHH!!! Why do we have to play musical proxies everytime we want to access a certain site??? :fit:
:2up: @ ntl for these bloody proxies!
Top brass at ntl if you are reading - at least make 'em work if you want to have them, otherwise ditch them. Nuff said.
EDIT - Actually, scratch that. Ditch them alltogether.
It's all gone screwy again . . . :fit:
Time to move onto the next proxy. Today's question - how many proxy changes is it going to take before I can complete my bloody Ebay transaction?
Online Petition Time?
They do cause more pain than good.

I'm trying to inform the seller of the method that I wish to pay them by and where to deliver it to. I do not do paypal as I do not have a credit card.
I shall try that cache and see what happens. ;)
EDIT - it does not work when I click the button :(
