Motorola C350 - Contract
Nokia 6210 - PAYG (Fully Unlocked, Fits my car kit)
Nokia 6210 - (Fully Unlocked, Spare phone)
Nokia 5510 - (fully unlocked, spare phone just in case)

The 2 6210s came to me as scrap, people had dropped them and I repaired them (new housings, new battery on one of them, and had to Surface Mount new power buttons on them)

I unlocked them as they were originally on T-Mobile and I use Orange :)

(Before the flames start, Unlocking a phone to all networks is legal, however Changing the IMEI is NOT legal and has NOT been done to them.)

Nokia 7110e on Orange. A bit big (I don't need the big screen as I only ever access internet on my Palm via infra-red) but it's a company phone so I don't have much choice.

Not complaining tho' !

No where did i imply that it makes me look big or better than anyone and i guess your rolling your eyes cause your tired.

Woah calm down mate i see you still have a lot of growing up to do.

The thread asked what phones do you own so i replied.

Let me explain for your benefit.

Orange SPV E100 - Contract (Replacement while My SPV gets Repaired)
Orange Smart Phone SPV - Contract (My Original Phone In Repair)
Sony Ericsson P800 - Contract, Girlfriends But Almost Mine
Siemens SL55 - PAYG Again hers but stolen by me when i can.
Panasonic GD87e - Trial Contract (As it says trial - free)
Samsung A300e - Gathering Dust (An old phone of mine)
Nokia 7110e - PAYG (Again an old phone of mine) used as alarm clock.
Motorola MR388 - Gathering Dust Looking More Like A Doorstop(Again an old phone of mine)

So perhaps i did not make that clear so in effect between two of us we have 2 contract phones and 1 pay as you go 1 on trial and a couple of old ones.

Plus she has a business mobile as well.

So you see it is not plain stupid it is fact.

Wheres the problem ?????

Maybe when you grow up a bit you will too be able to post a list of your old phones and ones you have.

:)

Actually, it's not that unusual to have multiple phones. I have a friend who has four , 2 Nokia (5510, and one of the 6 series phones) and 2 Motorolas (one is a v60, not sure what the other is) . She also has two phone numbers (on different networks), so carries two phones round at any time.

I did ask her why, but was told it was best not to ask, so didn't persue it.

ermmm...

An old Motorola from about 1995, used now as a doorstop!
An Erricson from about 1996 (can't be arsed to dig them out right now! for full model no.s!)
Nokia 5110 - no longer used
Nokia 6119 - no longer used
Nokia 3210 - no longer used
Nokia 3310 - no longer used
Nokia 3320 - no longer used
Nokia 7110 - no longer used
Nokia 6210 - no longer used
Nokia 8210 - no longer used
Nokia 8850 - Work Phone
Nokia 6100 - Current phone

You may have guessed, but I certainly prefer Nokias to many of the other makes around, mostly for their reliability, functionality and distinct GUIs. They're just /so/ logical!

Looking to go 3G as soon as it works /properly/!!!

I have the Orange SPV (if anyone is considering getting this phone DONT!!! ITS CRAP!) for personal usage, a PAYG 6210 on o2 as the signal on orange in my area isnt really that great, so its another point of contact for people to call me on (and i got the car kit for it, so its better to use in the car) and i got the Erricsson T38.. older phone, but still use it.... i didnt want to get rid of it when i got the SPV cos i had a load of BlueTooth gadgets to work with it..... and the SPV doesnt support BlueTooth :(

They say te SPV 2 will but.... i dont think im going to be going down the SPV route again...........

Well, you can never /really/ have even almost every latest phone, surely? I tend to just upgrade each year and keep the old ones as spares, since I never buy into any of the phone insurance schemes, although they can work out to be quite advantageous if you can handle a little dishonesty  :naughty:

I also tend to lend the later models out to friends when the lose / break theirs, just so they don't go completely unused...

My favourite so far has to be the 6100, just need to get a camera for it now... only problem was that I originally started with a contract with BT Cellnet [C.1995] - left them because their charges were outrageous and their CS was poor so moved to BT Genie, which were much more reasonable and I soon found to be saving a fortune on my bills - 50 minutes off peak per month, unlimited text messaging and unlimited WAP access... even the few restrictions placed upon my contract when Genie turned into O2 still gave me a good deal - they eventually restricted my text messages to 600per month because they thought that my usual 1000+ per month was taking the biscuit :D - well, you gotta get ya moneys worth!!

Now though, with MMS and GPRS, I've had to change contracts since neither were supported by my Genie tariff, which has now been archived... I've since seen quite an increase in my monthly bill, although I'm hoping that this is just down to me getting over the initial novelty phase of having so much more to play with... at a cost of course though :bigcry:

Yay, it's a nice size yet is much quicker and has greater storage than the 8310... Just realised that I had an 8210 on my list when that should've read 8310... I get confused with all these model numbers

Care to discuss? Certainly the screen / picture quality on the 6100 is far greater than the 7210 or the 7250... not sure about the 7250i though... It's also better than the quality I've seen on many clam shell rivals... Clam shells are /so/ gay :D

matty4donna
17-07-2003, 02:56
Actually you wind that the Panasonic GD87, the Sharp GX10 and the NEC e606 have the best screens currently on the market! And they are all clamshells!

Errr... okay, I said *many* clamshell *rivals*, ie equivalent to the 6100, not *all* or some... besides, the NEC is a *video* phone, so I wouldn't class it as a rival!! TFT displays are nice but I like to look at the full package first!!

Still don't like the gui's on the other phones, they're just clumsy and non intuitive... don't get me wrong, I don't have any problems with navigating around any mobile, I just find that the phone requiring the least amount thought/effort is better... That's the beauty of it, you don't even have to think about what you're doing... Clamshells are fine unless you use them a lot, then they start to break!! Besides, the GX10 is 110g, 6100 just 76g... The GD87 is 103g ... I'd rather wait until they can get the quality screens on phones that are a decent size / weight. Until then, I suffer no hardship :D

Phillips Savvy On the Old BT U Network (About 5 years old now)
Siemens c10 - Vodaphone

I really dont use a mobile enough to justify upgrading and the Savvy is supprisingly small for its age.

I've just recently got the 7250i, on T-Mobile, after being with orange for about the last 4 years. The 7250 was the phone I was after, so I checked around all the different phone shops, then went to orange. The phone from them was £50 more expensive, they'd give me £20 call credit for my old phone (3330), but, and I still cant believe this, they would've charged me another £50 to take my number to a contract with cross network minutes !!

Bye bye orange, hello T-Mobile, hello 7250 with no network lock, and no unsightly orange logo stamped on the cover !

My old phones are a 3330, 2x7110 (one is a work phone that still gets used), 1x5110, and 1 motorola d420 (i think, this was my first phone, and i dont even know where it is !)

Screens died on both mine and the missus Timeports. I've a T610 and she's got my hand me down T68(no i), both on OrangeYou were lucky. My Timeport had problems with the battery life. At the beginning, I could use it for about 2 days on a full charge, with about 3 hours talk time (this is acceptable). After 11 months, I was getting 6 hours on Standby and less that 20 minutes talk time.

Eventually, the phone started to turn off or crash if certain keys were pressed, and got to the point where it would not switch on even when plugged in to the mains.

I know I could get it repaired under warranty, but, TBH I had already decided I hated the phone and had my eye on a rather Sexy T68i (far superior phone in every way)...

Yeah but it's nice to able to hold it to your ear without having to hire someone who owns a crane to follow you about in case it rings, it's also nice not having to wheel about a suitcase with a battery in it. My dad's got one of the really old nokia phones, about the size of a double pack of jammy dodgers, which I find odd .. he was one of the first people to embrace new technology when mobiles first came out (battery/suitcase/10 minute talk time and no-one to ring) but seem's to have slacked off now they've become more and more inoffensive to look at.

Perhaps it's not a way of life for him.

Most of the day my mobile is off when I'm at work-teacher can't be having calls during lesson time.I find I just don't need it most of the time so I only switch it on when I'm waiting to get work or to phone my student daughter(I refuse to phone mobile phones on the landline as it costs me an arm and a leg)who can only run a pay as you go mobile.

The point I'm making is if you don't need the extras then don't buy them.Seems a waste to buy an expensive phone with all the extras and then never use them.Same with a digital camera or video camera when all you want to do is take simple photos or a quick video. Why buy the extra gizmos which you won't use?Save the money and buy

Those ones are indestructable!
A friend dropped one off a flyover (he worked for balfour beaties) and it was still in one piece and working!
Work colleauges at the AA had them, and the only way they could damage them to get an upgrade was drop them in water

Dude, if that's your mobile number, I'd be very wary about posting it on a public forum.

I dunno, I'd buy a digital or video camera based on the quality of the pictures, bit different to phones, the end result with a phone is still just a telephone conversation (or a crap low res photo)
