Play the original doom games, ok they dont have fancy graphics but I bet the gameplay is better.
I am not a fan of eye candy. The games content has to be excellent as well and I have a feeling Doom3 will lack in this dept.

I just want to be scared so bad that I'll need a bog under my desk chair just to play the game.

Not convinced by those specs. The geforce 3 is perfectly possible (as they're producing an XBox version), but why a Radeon 9600? The R9600 is considerable more powerful than the GF3. Did they mean the 9100 or 9200?

Well, I did say this was from Spong and they haven't got a 100% track record on info.

The game (PC Version) is DX9 hence why the GF3 wont hack it, it has not exactly got the power of the GF4ti and it only had full hardware support for DX8.1 (PS1.3 etc...) The 9600Pro is actually not really as fast the GF4ti4200 however why it is on minimum as it is DX9 i dont know!

The ti4400 and ti4600 arnt considerably more powerful then the ti4200 or R9600 and they dont have DX9.0 hardware support so this is confusing.

They got the optimal right though :D

This guy is planning to sell his car, quit his job and dump his girlfriend when Doom is released so nothing will disturb him.

Only as far as dx 8.1 and lower, with DX9 games, which a fair few are filtering through now, it outdoes a Ti4600 8X easily.

edit: rumour has it that the detail level on the leaked alpha of Doom ]|[ was only at "medium".

I'm taking delivery of an athlon 2400xp ( well it is better than the 1700 I'm running at the moment:) ) and then I will be getting the geforce fx5900 ultra (or plus or whatever it's called).
If nessecary I will o/c the 2400xp, oh....and I have 1gb ram.
So I should be sorted.:D
