Virgin Media to raise their prices by 4.5% !!!

# Aug 15, 12:33 PM by Cable Forum

Well, just after the UKTV and Virgin Media Saga in which VM TV Customers lost 10 channels and then got them back, the news today is that Virgin Media is to raise their prices by a whopping 4.5% either in October or November this year. This means prices of up to £48 for TV, Broadband and phone customers and up to £36 for Broadband customers only.

Price changes are as follows:

Broadband Only : up to £3 a month.
Broadband and line rental : up to £3/month.
The Player bundle : by £3/month
The Mix and Fun bundles : by £3.50/month
The Full House bundle : by £4/month

Those who have signed up after first of this month will not see these price rises.

These price rises are quite substantial… But customers can cancel their services penalty free, if they wish – as any price rise breaks the contractual relationship, the customer is tied in to.

Virgin Media will be contacting customers over the coming months to notify them of the changes.

A Virgin Media spokesperson has said in a statement:

“Increasing prices is not a decision which we take lightly. We work hard to keep our prices competitive while continuing to invest in our network and improve the services we offer our customers.

“Giving our customers an amazing service with the best connectivity, great programming – from exclusive entertainment to 4K UHD sport – and innovative new upgrades is something we’re committed to – and we’ll be delivering even more of this during the coming year.”
