Setanta Sports News launches on Virgin Media & Digital Satellite

Today saw the launch of “Setanta Sports News”, a free-to-air 24-hour rolling sports news channel, on Virgin Media digital cable TV and also on digital satellite TV. Setanta Sports News aims to cover not just news about sporting events broadcast on the Setanta channels, but also all relevant sports news from the UK and elsewhere. It is jointly owned by Setanta Sports and Virgin Media, and is produced by ITN.

Highlights on Setanta Sports News will include “The Goal Rush”, which will be the only programme on a free-to-air sports news channel to show all the goals from the Barclays Premier League and Clydesdale Bank Premier League. There will also be a weekly chat show with Kelly Dalglish, and a live phone in show with Steve Claridge.

Presenters include ex-Real Madrid TV presenter, Ashley House, former BBC Sport reporter, Roann Ghosh, and ex-Commonwealth Games athlete, Lisa Knights.

Leonard Ryan, joint Chief Executive, Setanta Sports, said:

Setanta Sports News can be found on channel 518 on Virgin Media digital cable TV, and channel 435 on digital satellite.
