Virgin.net comes second in BBC's Watchdog broadband satisfaction poll

# 22 March 2007, 17:44 by Cable Forum

Over the last few weeks, BBC’s consumer Watchdog programme has been conducting a poll to discover how satisfied consumers are with their broadband service from their ISP. In the poll that comprised of 50,000 viewers voting, Virgin.net came second in the category of best broadband providers. BT came top with AOL and Tiscali coming third and fourth respectively.

The poll was set-up which considered the following key points, they were: Customer service, ease of set-up, cancellation, value for money and reliability of service. The Watchdog results are not meant to provide a scientific statistical survey but a snapshot of 50,000 personal viewers opinions.

It is also important to note that with Virgin.net coming in second place in the poll for best broadband providers, Virgin, NTL and Telewest were treated separately as we all know, they have only just recently merged.

But even though this is the case in the poll, with them being listed seperately, ntl Telewest’s results overall, the cable group faired better than Sky.
