Virgin Media wins ISPA's best Consumer ISP

# 16 February 2007, 12:54 by Cable Forum

Virgin Media have sent us news that they obtained the award for best consumer facing ISPs, at the annual Internet Services Providers’ Association (ISPA) Awards, which was held in London last night. The cable group states that it beat off competition from the likes of Orange and Tiscali.

The award was given due to ‘improvements’ the company said they had made prior to the launch of Virgin Media.

An ISPA spokesperson, said: “The judges were impressed with ntl Telewest’s good technical delivery and its investment in customer services over the past year. The judges also felt that ntl Telewest’s packages give consumers a good choice of services available in the broadband market.”

Ernie Cormier, chief commercial officer of Virgin Media, added:

“With many companies jumping on the broadband wagon we’re proud to be recognised as the UK’s number one – providing consumers with quality and good value for money.
