ntl Telewest and Virgin Mobile to launch free TV and quad-play deal

ntl Telewest have issued us with a press release today which states, it is to give free digital TV to all new home phone customers. The Company has also stated that it will launch a ‘quad-play’ package of digital TV, broadband, fixed line and mobile phone services and both these packages are said to launch in September.
Below is a breakdown of the two packages:-
Free digital TV
- Free for the life of the phone subscription
- Access to next generation services including TV-on-demand, personal video recorder and high definition TV
- Customers can upgrade TV packages anytime they want
- No hidden installation or connection charges
‘Quad-play’
- Available to new and existing customers
- Combines ntl Telewest’s 3 for £30 package (over 30 digital channels and TV-on-demand, 2Mb broadband and phone line) with a Virgin Mobile pay monthly contract for just £40 a month
- No hidden installation or connection charges
- Customers will shortly also be able to choose any two base services for £20 per month, any three for £30 or all four for £40
Commenting on the company’s plans, Steve Burch, ntl Telewest’s chief executive officer, said:
“The quad play product will be the first time we’ve combined a Virgin branded service with ntl Telewest products. No other company has the capability to provide such total flexibility for the consumer. These offers show that, as a combined company, we’re putting the consumer at the heart of everything we do.
