4 new ntl Digital Family Pack channels launch tomorrow

Cable Forum is pleased to announce that tomorrow, 30th March, ntl Digital Family Pack subscribers will have 4 new channels at no extra cost. However, rumours of a forthcoming price rise have been circulating, and Cable Forum will bring you more news on this as we get it.
Of the four new channels, only one is actually a new channel, with the other three being timeshift channels. However, any expansion of the Digital TV service is a welcome one. The new Digital TV channels are:
The release of these new channels bring’s ntl’s Digital TV offering closer into line with Sky, which already offered all these channels. Other competitors, Freeview & Top Up TV, do not offer these channels.
ntl has said that customer’s will be receiving a bill insert with their March 2006 bill, which will detail more information on the new channels. There will also be a DTV microsite, although details of this have not been released yet.
Channel Launch Information
As ntl still has two different Television platforms left over from the Cable & Wireless days, differences are still apparent.
Bromley (former C&W areas)
- Due to technical issues on the Bromley platform, the channels will drop to the bottom of the EPG for Bromley CR1 customers.
- Customers can rearrange their channel order by pressing the Red button when they are in the Favourites menu.
Langley (original ntl areas)
- For most Langley customers, the channel will launch in the correct position in the EPG.
- Some Langley customers may need to reboot their set-top-box to view the channels.
- Customers can rearrange their channel order by pressing the Red button when they are in the Favourites menu.
