ntl and Telewest Merger Deal Draws Close

Timesonline is reporting that the long speculated ntl and Telewest merger deal, said to be worth £3.4bn, is drawing close to a conclusion and it is hoped to be finalised next week. Further delays are still possible but once both cable companies are combined, they would become the big contender to take on BT and BSkyB.
The Timesonline also reports that Chief Executive Officer of ntl, Simon Duffy is expected to take on the top leading role of the merged cable companies and once combined, will have a customer base of approx. 5 Million.
