As we reported not that long ago, ntl’s key product launches for 2005, coming first is VOD and ntl’s chief executive Simon Duffy has confirmed that the Video-On-Demand service is scheduled to launch in January.
The service will be rolled on a region-by-region basis, our sources have identified that January 18th is said to be when some set-top boxes will get the software, which is said to provide a catch-up service which features content from the BBC. It is also said to provide fee-based content such as films and music videos.
In a brief statement to us – Simon Duffy says, ‘VOD rollout is scheduled to start in January, however, it will take a couple of years, not a few weeks, to complete.’
