Belkin connected to basic ADSL, how to find WAN (public) ip address ?

I have got basic ADLS modem that does not have web based interface, and there is Belkin Vision F5D8232-4 wireless router connected to it.
I tried to find the WAN ip address (public ip address) when I access the belkin wireless router web page, but I could not find such an option (other router is “status “ )can help to find that.

Thanks

Zillah, if you go to http://192.168.2.1 there you should have INTERNET SETTINGS on the middle of your page, in there you should see your wan ip.

see attachment

You could get your private ip through CMD and your public on from the router config page or vist http://whatsmyip.org/

Even easier, click the "connection" option in the navigation menu at the top of this forum

As DocDutch showed us in his attachment, there are two ip addresses , both of them are private. One of them for WAN say (192.168.1.2), the other for LAN say (192.168.2.1).

Yes I am aware that we can find through CMD command what is the LAN ip address (i.e. Gateway).

And through router web page we can find what is the LAN ip address and WAN ip address (natted one).

Now can we find the public ip address (real) by using web based of the router not third party resources ?

Re: Belkin connected to basic ADSL, how to find WAN (public) ip address ?

If the router doesn't have the modem built in so you are using an external modem, why should the router know about the public IP address.

My guess is that in ADSL the modem is also routing so hiding the outside from the Belkin router. In your case the Belkin WAN address is the IP given by the modem.
