best wireless router

well after being fobbed off for over 3 months about getting a free router that should have come free with the 20 meg nearly a year ago they said we can only buy one from them at a cost of £50. (VM get enough money off me a month so would prefere to give my £50 to a crook on ebay).

my question is wots the wireless best router to buy for cable it must be very easy install like plug in and play no messing about making phone calls or going thru a menu that takes an age and has a solid connection all it will be used for is for the ps3 and laptop.

when it comes to tech knowledge im a new born so try to keep the tech speak to simple speak.

many thx all.

Re: best wireless router

like you i had xl tv m phone and went from 10mb to 20mb in the XXX pack and vm offered me a free wireless modem yesterday. I mentioned ending my contract and taking up Sky HD's attractive offer, although I have 9 months left and would have had to pay £120 early exit.

Re: best wireless router

I believe one of the best wifi routers around now is the recently updated Apple Airport Extreme. It's one of the few routers available here with dual band support, meaning if you have a mixed 802.11g and 802.11n network you won't lose any speed.

Re: best wireless router

I bought one of these recently from Amazon- Linksys WRT54GL. It was around £40. Very easy to set up, just follow the wizard on the supplied cd.
