You are correct, it popped up again today so I pressed the OK button on the TV remote and got a pop up advising me that screen casting to the TV from Netflix and You Tube apps was being discontinued.
So nothing to do with sports channels, sorry for intruding in the wrong thread.

Presumably US only but an interesting development.

Disney, Warner and Fox plan sports streaming venture
Disney’s ESPN, Fox and Warner Bros Discovery plan to launch a new sports streaming service later this year that will aggregate all of the games offered by their traditional TV networks.
The service, to be housed in an as-yet unnamed new app, is aimed at consumers who have ditched traditional pay TV in favour of streaming.
“For each of [the networks’ sports divisions] the pay TV bundle was a vital part of our business,” said one person involved in the new business. “Currently there’s not a great product out there for those outside the pay TV bundle — that’s what this platform is targeted towards.”

Re: ESPN, BT, Euro, Premier and Sky Sports news
The Mail is reporting that at least two games per round until the semi-final would be included in the FTA package that TNT Sports would then sub-licence. It's also reported they will be paying £66m per year.

My personal preference would be ITV as the free to air broadcaster as I detest Shearer,Lineker and co on the BBC

Re: ESPN, BT, Euro, Premier and Sky Sports news
They should screen all FA cup matches from the Extra Preliminary round onwards. With 732 teams, that should see who is really committed. The Premiership can finance it, pocket money to them.
