Re: Thick as thieves?
Who says the Police don't do as the public request?

A YOB who smashed the windscreen of a police patrol car as it cruised through Paisley town centre taunted the officers inside – shouting “come and get me” – as he took to his heels and tried to flee.

What I am curious about is to how an incident which would almost certainly have been caught on CCTV, had plenty of witnesses and not too much in the way of a defence takes almost a year to come to court.

Re: Thick as thieves?
The car getting damaged was clearly the officers' fault for being in it in the first place. Sack them and prosecute them for possession of warrant cards.

Imagine not being able to get out of the way of a thrown bottle. And having the cheek of being fit enough to run after and catch someone.
Disgraceful. Clearly they should be done for vandalism to the bottle and the ned compensated for losing his drink.

Yes. I hope those ones are going down. We need to rid the force of gung-ho cops like those.

you should know the answer to that one better than any of us....
aren't the courts in this country overloaded with all sorts of cases?Especially since New Labour introduced over 1000 new offenses since 1997...

Re: Thick as thieves?
Note to potential insurance fraudsters. When providing video footage proving you were on a coach when it crashed and badly injured you make sure you remove the bit after the crash where you are dancing about and not showing any signs of being injured at all.

A bridegroom and his parents who invented injuries to claim compensation after a minor crash on his wedding day have each been jailed for a year.
Their deceit was only uncovered when the Singhs handed in the wedding video as part of their case against the travel firm, Hollins.
However, shots of them partying after the footage of the collisions sparked suspicions.

Re: Thick as thieves?
Yes nice to see people trying to cheat the system getting caught out! It's tip of the iceberg however I reckon - apparently in some areas false claims like these are so common that particular 'accident' blackspots are targeted by invesitgators/police hoping to catch people in the act.

In all, over 70 claims were made, some of which resulted in payments by Hollins' insurers.

Re: Thick as thieves?
This is why a high percentage of buses now have CCTV on them.
The number of fraudulant claims being disputed by the bus company's has risen sharply.
I am glad that at last people have been jailed for fraud.
Hopefully this may be the start of the end of 'Florida neck' syndrome
