Yes, if I'm not mistaken head to head results count before goal difference, so a draw against Austria would suffice for Germany.
So: Portugal - Germany QF, Germany lose the semi to Croatia

You're assuming we'll beat what looks like the Czech Rep. I'm not so sure.

Are you supporting Croatia? I agree, that match is a tough one to call. Czech Republic haven't really impressed so far, but Croatia weren't exactly firing on all cylinders against Austria either.

Are you assuming Germany will beat Portugal? We will beat the Orange army to win it.

No, joking more like. I think Portugal are better than Germany. Then again: never write off the Germans.

Re: The Euro 2008 thread
Not quite sure what all the fuss has been about really with all this "shock win" malarky. Croatia are a very good side and Germany weren't exactly stellar against a very poor Poland side: they really didn't play as well in that first match as the tv lot are trying to make out.

Re: The Euro 2008 thread
True Croatia normally do ok and the Germans were terrible. We can never write off the Germans.
I wonder if Italy will finish 3rd or not

Yes.
Don't also forget that Eduardo's out, he really is about the only goalscorer in the side.

Yes, and they're a much better side with Eduardo, I still worry where the goals come from.
That said Modric and Krancjar create a lot (looking forward to Modders in the Prem) and Olic isn't a bad finisher.

What a save from Buffon! Keeps their hopes of qualifying alive.
I fancy France to win in the next game.

Re: The Euro 2008 thread
Holland 1-0 France
Great Kuyt header from corner, terrible marking by the French.

Yes it was.... i want to see Portugal meet Holland in the final.
Its only a shame that Italy & France aren't out after that earlier penalty save.
I love seeing Henry not get anything go his way through most of that game!
