We never thought we were going to be grandparents, son set on an international career, long hours and high earnings but not enough personal time to smell the roses. A smile, a laugh and he was smitten by the loveliest lady we have ever met. They had been at school then uni together since they were 11 but were just mates. We now have a beautiful grandson who will be 18 months old tomorrow and it had better not rain as we are having an un-birthday party for him.

It had better not land in Mancland before Wednesday. I have a toddler party with lashings of jelly and ice cream all arranged for tomorrow. Not to mention a comfy seat arranged next to the paddling pool so that I can sit and supervise the activities with my feet firmly planted in the water.

Re: What have you just bought?
Luckily for you jo we are getting the unsettled weather down here first on Wednesday and thus it moves northwards from Thursday/Friday onwards.

Re: What have you just bought?
Hinges complete with screws from Wickes. Took them back as the screws had heads made out of butter.
Magnetic catches complete with screws from Wickes. Took them back as the screws to hold the metal plate stopped them working as they were not countersunk screws.
Wooden doorknobs from Wickes. Took them back as the captured bolts inside the handles fell out!
Hmmmm... the Wickes/B&Q semi-monopoly is getting dire.

A new scratching post for the Horrors, a rack for me bike and two bottles of MCT oil, oh, and a cycling helmet. Tomorrow, I'll prolly be buying a new long life bulb, the one in the lamp's fizzing like a bugger.

Re: What have you just bought?
Eight pairs of boxer shorts. Either my current ones were gradually shrinking every time they were washed or I have put on a bit of weight since the back problems. I'm sticking with the shrinking until anyone can prove otherwise
