Re: Science Fiction, Fantasy, and other Snippets
Anyone know when Falling Skies Series 3 starts and on what channel? My EPG is picking up lots of re-runs (even though my series record is set to new only) for the 1st of June?

It doesn't start in the US until the 9th June, so will be after that for the UK showing

Re: Science Fiction, Fantasy, and other Snippets
Three new series coming in the Autumn (from CW) that I have my eye on.
The Originals : A spinoff of the The Vampire Diaries. The series revolves around the original vampire family.
The Tomorrow People : Based on the UK 1970s science fiction seriesabout young people from around the world who are the next next step in human evolution and have the powers of teleportation and telepathy.
The 100 : Ninty seven years after a nuclear war has destroyed civilization, a spaceship containing the few remaining human survivors assigns a mission to 100 juvenile delinquents - travel back to Earth and explore whether recolonizing the planet is possible.

Re: Science Fiction, Fantasy, and other Snippets
I'm interested in all 3 of them. Looks like this year is going to be a good one for TV. When it comes to The Originals though, I'm glad Klaus is off TVD because he was supposed to be the main baddie but he stopped being that ages ago.

I remember one or two of the Tomorrow peoples episodes.. you really had to watch them closely to follow what was happening.

The previews don't work on the CW site unless you go through a proxy, here's a page with all the previews on for the shows mentioned by Paul. Also you'll notice one or two more shows

Re: Science Fiction, Fantasy, and other Snippets
Hmm, Im struggling to figure out what the story is supposed to be.
Just someone floating in space ? doesnt really inspire me to want to rush and see it.

Re: Science Fiction, Fantasy, and other Snippets
I think they are trying not to give the story away in the teaser but they've gone too far and it gives nothing at all away.
Here is the synopsis
Quote:
Synopsis
Academy Award® winners Sandra Bullockand George Clooney star in “Gravity,” a heart-pounding thriller that pulls you into the infinite and unforgiving realm of deep space. The film was directed by Oscar® nominee Alfonso Cuarón (“Children of Men”). Bullock plays Dr. Ryan Stone, a brilliant medical engineer on her first shuttle mission, with veteran astronaut Matt Kowalsky (Clooney) in command of his last flight before retiring. But on a seemingly routine spacewalk, disaster strikes. The shuttle is destroyed, leaving Stone and Kowalsky completely alone—tethered to nothing but each other and spiraling out into the blackness. The deafening silence tells them they have lost any link to Earth…and any chance for rescue. As fear turns to panic, every gulp of air eats away at what little oxygen is left. But the only way home may be to go further out into the terrifying expanse of space.

Re: Science Fiction, Fantasy, and other Snippets
There seems to be a lack of new sci-fi programmes. Falling Skies really good, walking dead love it.
