Thinking of Joining but need advice

Hi,

I am sorely tempted to sign up for Virgin Media 10 meg Package, I currently get a variable 1meg to 6 meg depending on the wind from a BT Wholesale Reseller.

I have a recently purchased Netgear DG834N Adsl Wireless router with firewall etc.

I understand I will need a firewall router with cable, can I use the above unit or will it become trash and if so would you recommend?

Also 1 off topic question is do Virgin Media accept Credit Card Payment?

Thanks in Advance!

ADSL and cable work differently. Routers that have an inbuilt ADSL modem will not normally work correctly for networking with cable.

A standard broadband router will work - the Linksys WRT54G series are often liked on here. Sell the netgear on ebay

Payment to VM by direct debit is the best way. Any other method can get you charged a non direct debit fee - I think that's currently £5.00 per month
