Also, you do realise you are over powering the remaining LEDs by cutting out one like that (given they are in series).
The others will then have a shorter life (and likely run a little hotter/brighter before they burn out).

It's interesting that you say that, I was thinking that it would be slightly dimmer as one of them was no longer providing light.

Do you think it could be dangerous electrical safety or fire wise?
