Dental Implants

Anyone had a dental implant? Thinking about it even though the price is astronomical (£2k).

The alternatives are a denture (ruled that out, beginning of the end!), a bridge ( not keen on having the okish teeth either side drilled down), or leave a gap.

It's either the gap or an implant. It's towards the back so cosmetically couldn't give a toss, but obviously does affect biting slightly.

The main objection to the implant is although I can afford it, these dentists are raking it in big time ! Leaving it can lead to bone loss, and may affect other teeth - so the people trying to sell an implant say (!)

Anyhow, any advice/experiences appreciated.
