Chad has referred only to Sky and BT. I agree with him that while the competition is between those two, Sky will probably continue to win every time, as long as they can maintain or increase their audience share.
The problem for Sky is that there are other challengers waiting in the wings. They have even bigger pockets than Sky and could outbid them if they wanted to. The big question is, will they do so, and will this translate into even higher prices, which is clearly what you believe, or will the new players have different models that see lower prices to bring in a bigger audience and help to combat piracy, and will they sell on their rights to enhance the income to pay for this so that at least some matches can be shown on more platforms?
For these answers, we will have to wait and see. However, simply to respond doggedly that it will never happen without giving an explanation does not really contribute to this debate convincingly, although that view may be your genuinely held opinion.
