LOL, they sent a new power lead identical to one that came in the original package. Ah well, this and the adapter and the old box will be returned.

the Vhd box (cisco brand) uses a power adaptor,may be they have got the wrong info as to which box the OP has?

But they didn't include an adapter in the original package. It was only my checking off the checklist that started all this.
So basically they just sent the wrong checklist.

Looking at the picture of the box here it looks a different box. The one he has has a shiny black front and has basically rectangular sides not curved.

Thanks CFMan. That's the V-HD box, not the V+. Did it all come packaged together in the same carton with your V+?

this also happens with modems, they get information on connecting the hub which is wrong.

Yep, everything came in the same box. Just to clarify, the one he has got and working is a V+HD box.
