Upgrade without phoning customer services? There's an app for that

# 20 September 2013, 13:41 by Chris T

Virgin Media has come up with a new way of saving its customers from having to make phone calls to customer services.

It has produced a new app to install in its popular TiVo set top box, which lets customers order premium TV content via their remote control.

Nestled in the TiVo’s Apps and Games menu, the new app allows cable TV customers to subscribe to a wide range of premium content.

BT Sport, Sky Sports and Sky Movies are amongst the channels on offer at the click of a remote button.

The new service is unveiled just days after VM moved to beef up its TiVo offering by signing a deal with movies-on-demand service provider Netflix. The service makes a wide range of feature films and TV shows available to its subscribers.

Netflix content will also be available to Virgin Media TiVi users via a new app.
